My Students

I teach an amazing group of students in the promise zone of the West Philadelphia area. I'm so privileged to teach a mixture of students. I teach students who have learning disabilities who are just learning how to read as well as gifted students who all love to read. I love their enthusiasm when it's time to read and listening to the conversations that they have while reading. They are a very talented bunch and are rising to the academic challenges that I place before them every day, as well as demonstrating their talents in other extracurricular activities such as art, music, and dance.

My Project

Everyday we have time set aside a time to read. My students are getting excited about reading and I want to continue to make sure that they stay excited. These additional books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional options to choose from in the library. They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in reading independently.
