Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a 6th grade science teacher, I believe that reading is a vital part of every student's growth, regardless of the subject. These books will give my students independent time to immerse themselves in stories that interest them and expose them to new ideas and genres. All books will be selected at appropriate grade levels to support their reading development.

Getting middle schoolers excited about reading can be challenging, so having a variety of engaging, high-interest books will encourage more students to get involved.

My goal is to help them continue growing as readers while also fostering a love for learning.

In addition to books, I also need supplies that will support hands-on, engaging learning experiences in the classroom. These materials will help students stay involved and better understand the concepts we cover in science.
