This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 20 hard working, amazing first grade students in a low income, small East Texas town. They love to work with hands-on activities, make creative art projects, play games, and learn through technology. My students do not respond as positively to worksheets or seat work activities as they do to physically manipulating skills with manipulatives or using a device.
I strive to make my classroom a fun and exciting, but also engaging learning environment for all of my students.
My Project
My students need new stools for alternative seating during station time, these stools will make our stations less crowded and provide more workspace. We also need a new treasure box container. Students work so hard on making great choices and deserved to be rewarded. The new toy storage container will work perfectly as our new classroom treasure box! I chose new books for my classroom that I know will help to build character and reinforce those positive choices throughout the day in class. The addition to these items to our classroom will ensure that our school year is off to a great start!
