This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students enjoy school immensely. Sometimes they get so excited about learning it seems they will just burst. It is infectious.

My students are from a high-poverty region and are predominantly bilingual or English Language Learners.

The students and their families are motivated learners. Some of our parents even come to school to learn along with their children. They are all excited to discover and explore. My amazing kids are deserving of so much more than their economic status currently allows and I want to do everything I can to help them reach a brighter future.

My Project

My students have so many ideas to express. But we are limited in the methods in which we can share them. Our new Visual Arts classes do not have any bold markers or crayons to make our words and pictures stand out and be noticed. How will we make influential advertisements when our words do not catch they eyes? We do not even have white construction paper for beginning our projects on Color Theory. How can we mix blue and yellow to make green if our paper starts off pink? And where do we stack 30, or even 60, wet papers in our small classroom?

Please help us have the media and equipment we need to make our words, lines, and colors be noticed, felt, and understood.
