My kindergarten students walk into the classroom every morning with bright eyes full of excitement for the day and a love for school. The class is compiled of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities and abilities that allow each child to learn from each other and grow into a caring classroom community.
My Project
With working and effective listening center materials, students will be able to explore literature through an accessible medium. Listening to reading allows students to build language skills by exposing children to different complex vocabulary and literary stories/ideas. A listening center is an essential part of any early childhood classroom that provides accessibility to quality literature for every child. Current and modern literature is also an important component of quality listening centers, as they introduce students to real-world topics that exist in modern day society, ultimately preparing students to be positive and respectful members of the community.
