My Students
My students are very diverse, coming from many different communities in the county. While my school is strong in STEM, many students still share a passion for the English classroom. The students love to read and love to read different types of literature from the classics to new age literature.
The students love to escape into new pieces of literature that they have never experienced before.
They love the opportunity to expand on their writing and learning new techniques to improve their writing.
My Project
Constantly, students are searching through our classroom library with trouble finding a story that interests them and that is age appropriate. Many of the books in our classroom library are geared towards the middle school grades or are books that students have already read multiple times. Being in the high school classroom, the students need books that they can relate to and fall into the story.
Our classroom library needs to be revamped with a fresh twist.
We need to add more popular young adult titles with a splash of new up and coming authors that the students can relate to. We need the requested books.
