Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very motivated learners and deserve the very best each and every day. I teach at a Title I school where a lot of the students come from very unique households. I am so impressed with how much effort and success I see from my students.

The younger years in school are such a momentous year in a child's education.

They are learning how to interact with others for possibly the first time, handling their emotions, and learning about not only themselves but the world around them. It is my hope that I can continue to create an exciting, productive, and engaging atmosphere for my students to learn and grow. I hope that you will help us.

My Project

My school district has elected to start school online for the first 9 weeks of school, meaning that I will not come face-to-face with my students for quite some time, other than through a computer screen. However, students need that face-to-face interaction. These books will help me make sure my students are connected to our ever changing world and that I am also meeting their socio-emotional needs the best I can from a distance. These books will allow them that time them need to hear strong reading skills while still being able to process their emotions and the world around them at safe distance.

'One must always be careful of books and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.' -Cassandra Clare

These books will serve as powerful read alouds for my students and will allow me to give my students the tools they need to be the best they can be, and ensure they are all prepared.
