My Project

Our school has engrained the skills and values embodied in the NASP archery in Oklahoma schools program. Junior high students are enrolled in our science course that teaches everything about archery and then teaches them to shoot, giving them field experience. They begin in 6th grade and continue all the way through graduation.

Our archery teams are proficient and tend to score well at competitions.

This year they did so even having to overcome the difficulties of faulty and worn out equipment. Our program has been around for a good many years and the equipment is old and worn. Many of our bows need new cables and strings, our targets are old and completely worn. We have made do; however, our students deserve to have equipment that is functional and provides them with the greatest opportunity for success. This year our high school team scored high enough to be invited to shoot at the Grand State event in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This was a great honor.

I have begun to rebuild our stock of equipment; unfortunately, I was only able to locate a few of our needed materials on the offered DonorsChoose websites, but they will give us a great start in rebuilding our dilapidated equipment to be better prepared for next year's archery season.
