This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the Library Media Specialist in a K-5 building, I am in the unique position to work with all students (and teachers!) in the building for several years. This comes with the pleasure of watching my students grow and learning what modalities they learn best with. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love reading diverse books, participating in maker space activities and STEM challenges, and are very curious. There are over 1,400 students in our school! I have a large population of English language learners. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. My students are both general and special education students. They are all amazing kids! This virtual course will teach additional strategies so I can give them an even better learning experience.
Studies show "Teacher quality is the most influential factor that can determine student success" This is why teachers should never stop learning!
With the information gained in this course, I can be a better advocate for my students!
All of the knowledge gained from this course will be utilized in my classroom and shared with my peers as well. Together we are better.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
