Never a Dull Moment..

Help me give my students some dramatic play options including play dough toys, play kitchen set as well as some wobble seats for some of my more wiggly friends.

My Students

My classroom is filled with strong personalities, from my students obsessed with athletics, competition and completing things as fast as possible to my students passionate about art, expressing themselves and coming up with new imaginative games.

They come together to push one another, guide each other and find ways to play collaboratively.

(I'll never forget the day one of my students convinced everyone to play Mario on the playground and all the students ran around pretending to jump on mushrooms and smash bricks in the air)

My Project

As a new teacher I realized a major thing that I was lacking and my students were needing. Creative play! I am fortunate enough to work at a school that believes in the power of collaborative play and the important social and emotional skills students get from this.

Every week my students work hard to earn Fun Fun Friday which is a time at the end of the day in which they get free choice.

I desperately need more creative options for my students during this time.

These tools will support students in gaining important social emotional skills such as sharing, taking turns and playing collaboratively. It will also support them in self expression and dramatic play.

I have several English Language learners that my project will also benefit in developing language skills.
