Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Last year, my students participated in the Nevada Young Reader Award's voting process. I read each nominee, and each student voted for their favorite book. My students loved participating and I promised them we would do it again this year.

Please help me put copies of the award nominees in my library and into the hands of 600 children!

With these books, I can teach each of the students at my school about book awards. I will also be able to teach them how to read with a critical eye and determine what they think makes an award-winning book. I will be able to give my students a voice and show them their opinions count.
