Neurodiversity Children's Books

Help me give my students stories with neurodiverse characters, so they can see themselves and their friends represented. I wish to spread awareness on my campus to increase acceptance and create an inclusive, safe space for all students.

My Project

I am a brand new speech and language pathologist at an elementary school! A huge part of my why is making sure that all students have accessible, inclusive, empathetic, joyful, and safe learning spaces to thrive in. I wish to spread awareness of different disabilities and brain neurotypes so the students on my caseload, and the general school population, are aware that everyone is beautifully different.

Assuming that neurodiverse individuals will take on the role of educating others about neurodiversity is a massive burden for these individuals to have to carry on their own.

I am aiming to push into general education classrooms with these books to raise awareness of the many differences in communication styles, learning needs, and sensory needs of neurodiverse individuals.
