Neurodiversity ASD Class Library

Help me give my students positive, empowering, neurodiversity-affirming messages about autism through books!

My Students

The preschool to 6th grade students I support have some of the biggest hearts I have ever met! We are a small-ish school with big hearts for inclusion and a love for learning.

The students I support have a variety of neurodiverse needs; for example autism, ADHD, and sensory differences.

We try to incorporate empowerment and self-advocacy into everything we do!

My Project

We have been learning together about neurodiversity--the vastness and huge diversity of all the brains and bodies we humans have!

"It is hard to be afraid of something you know a lot about."

As we celebrate neurodiversity, with a focus on autism, students open themselves up to both individual and collective reflection on areas of strength and difficulty. We also explore intersectional identities and how that impacts the autistic experience, the internal personal experience and as a society member. You can help us listen to autistic voices and build up our classroom library with these books!
