Help me give my students calculators for the classroom! I'm specifically choosing purple so that my students know they're my calculators and all students can use them!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have classes with 37 students and only a handful with their own calculators. They often can use their computers or share, but when it comes to tests and quizzes, I feel bad as a teacher saying, "Oh well! Do your best until someone finishes," when a student doesn't get one. Lacking a calculator on a math test brings the already high anxiety that comes from a math test even higher. Some students can get through a lot without one, but my very low students need them for even simple calculations. I'm hoping to get a class set but am happy with whatever can be donated! Thank you for considering my project.
