My Students

I have the most vivacious group of first-grade students.
From the moment I am greeted on my class-Zoom screen, until the end of the online instructional session, my students surge with pure energy. My students attend Maywood Elementary School, a school where the majority of the population qualifies for free or reduced lunch. 42 percent of our students are English language learners, and when in school physically, many make use of after-school services that provide extended care, homework help, and a warm meal at no cost. Despite these circumstances, Maywood students' academics rank high above many of the neighboring schools with similar demographics.
My Project
Having a second monitor such as the 23.6 inch Acer monitor and USB-C display port cable will allow me to provide better instruction during the pandemic allowing me to better view my students who are in attendance. Currently I use an 11 inch MacBook Air to provide online instruction via Zoom, and an older 9 inch MacBook Air as my second monitor to get a gallery view of my students. Although I love my Macs, they are simply not the best screens for gallery view. The 23.6 inch monitor will not only serve our current distance learning, but also when we return physically to the classroom serving to view those students who choose to attend class virtually.
