Help us improve our reading skills! Sometimes it's difficult to stay on task while independently reading. A hand held voice recorder just might do the trick!
I teach 2nd grade in a school where the spirit of learning soars and character grows!
Our population of 460 students is currently at 28% poverty level.
It is my goal as a second grade teacher to keep students safe, love them, and teach them as much as I can. I truly want to foster each child's love for learning and help every student feel successful.
My Project
One challenge I have as a second grade teacher is finding time during the school day to listen to each student read aloud. By using voice recorders, a student can record himself reading. I can then take home the recorder and listen to the students read. This will enable me to regularly check fluency and accuracy. Most students love to record themselves, play it back, and listen to what they've read. They can hear their own fluency and accuracy. Additionally, the recorders will help students stay on task and focus on their book.
Some children love to read, but it is challenging for others.
These voice recorders can encourage students at all levels to keep reading, improve their skills, and hopefully develop into a life-long reader. Please consider donating to our project.
