My Students

My classroom is designed to assist each student with self regulation techniques. We move around the room to each center, practice yoga daily and movement breaks are incorporated into our routine. I would love to see by the end of the year the whole class being able to sit during group.

My classroom is a Special Education Classroom in an Urban District.

I have at least half of my students coming from homes where English is a Second Language. My school also has a poverty rate of approximately 80%. My classroom contains students that require small group and 1:1 teaching.

My Project

I am looking for a carpet to place in front of our Smart Board in the classroom. This will enable the students to be able to sit on the floor, listen to stories, participate in hand on activities on the board and stretch out during group activities. The carpet will enable the students with vision impairments to locate the area using the carpet. The carpet will also help student who need to lie on stomach and complete work on stomach to be on a soft environment versus a hard floor.

We were lucky to be able to obtain Smart Boards in my school.

I would love to be able to have a comfortable place for the students to assemble for various activities on the floor using a carpet.
