My Students
My students are creative and eager to learn. Our classroom is full of scholars who love to move around and be involved with the work they are focusing on. There is a wide range of students in the classroom. There are students who are below grade level and at grade level. This allows everyone to work together and challenge one another.
My scholars come from a low-income background and receive free breakfast and lunch daily.
They work hard every time they enter the school building, which makes them very unique. These scholars are willing to put up a fight and try their best to accomplish anything that comes their way in third grade.
My Project
My students will benefit from these snacks, such as veggie straws, fruit snacks, and granola bars for many different reasons. They receive free breakfast starting at 7:30 and do not eat again until 1:00 pm. They start to shut down during our reading time due to hunger. Since these scholars are in third grade they need to be fully energized during our reading time in order to learn and do well on the third-grade reading guarantee.
Some of these scholars do not have a steady home life and need to bring food home with them.
Allowing my scholars to feed their stomachs will also give their brain the energy and nutrients it needs to fully function. These scholars need to be meeting the basic needs of life by eating. Giving them snack time and allowing them to take food home will help them grow physically and mentally. I want them to have a successful year! Please help out these magnificent scholars!
