Our school district has implemented a new program called iReady to help students increase their reading and math skills. It is a wonderful new program that helps students at their level build skills they need. My students really love the lessons and games they do in both reading and math. I am learning a lot on how to use this new program to help my students as well.
The only problem is that students need good headphones in order to complete the lessons.
We were given headphones in the beginning of the school year and my second-grade students, who are 7 and 8 years old, tend to be hard on their things. Even students who are more cautious than others have had problems with their headphones and need new ones. This program relies a great deal on listening and my students cannot do that if they cannot hear.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
