This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at my school are some of the most incredible hardworking students I have ever met. All of them have obstacles they must face in and out of school and their perseverance is something to be sought after. They consistently remind me that life is not always easy and sometimes you are dealt a tough hand, but just put your head up and don't stop. This is my fifth year at this school and I am so excited to continue to work with them as they grow even more. Our school is very much a family and I couldn't see myself anywhere else. We have a range of levels, circumstances, and emotions, but we together make a strong and incredible family!
My Project
My students have come a long way in their academic journey. Enjoyably, I get to be their teacher for two years, in both 2nd and 3rd grade. In this time, I get the incredible opportunity to see their hard work pay off and demonstrated in their extraordinary growth. During these years, our carpet often got worn out due to the great use the students have with them. The carpet was handed down from a previous teacher and was graciously used for my past 5 years of teaching.
With your donation, we will be able to get a replacement carpet and give students a sense of pride in their classroom since items won't be torn or falling apart.
The current carpet, although loved and appreciated, is now ready to be retired. It has several rips and tears. The corners will no longer stay flat and curve up causing many tripping hazards. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. I would love to be able to provide this resources to my students because they truly work so hard, but unfortunately, I am unable to provide it fully on my own and I would really appreciate your help to make this happen for these incredible deserving students.
