Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work in one of the most under-resourced districts, where many students come from low-income families who struggle to afford basic classroom essentials. As a first-year teacher in a small classroom, I want to create a comfortable and supportive environment for my students. Providing simple items like folders and pencils and cubbies can help them stay organized and teach responsibility for their belongings. Sensory toys will aid in maintaining focus and offer much-needed breaks, especially for students with disabilities. I also plan to use candy and stickers as rewards to encourage engagement and motivate students to complete their work.
