My Students

My students are full of energy and ready to learn each and every day. They are super sweet and respectful to each other. We work on building a classroom community from the very first day of school until the very last day.

I teach at a Title I school in South Carolina where all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

The students come from a variety of different backgrounds (from neighborhoods, government housing, and rural settings). Despite some of their home lives, they are always happy to be at school and look forward to each new day of learning.

My Project

We would like to incorporate flexible seating options in our classroom that will give students a choice while keeping learning comfortable, fun, and exciting.

Our classroom would love to have more comfortable work spaces!

Students will be able to use floor cushions to make their independent reading time a little more comfortable. Also, during independent writing, the students will be able to choose a spot around the room and use the lap desks for to concentrate on writing stories. Because we all need to "wiggle" sometimes, the wobble stools and seats will give the students a way to focus more on their work, when needed.
