This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a diverse community. My school is safe place where all members of our diverse community learn side by side with one another. My classroom is an ICT classroom where students with special needs are integrated into a general education classroom.
It is my school's mission to welcome and celebrate all peoples and to nurture them to be more reflective, cooperative, and kindhearted.
More than 96% of our students are poor enough to qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
This upcoming school year, NYC will be starting off the year with a blended model of in school and remote learning. My students will spend the majority of their learning time, at least sixty percent, working remotely. I'm trying to find new ways to support them academically. Many of the students and their families aren't familiar with technology. I am hoping to send materials such as notebooks, bags and cases to put materials in, adapters for headphones for students to use on the iPads provided by the DOE.
My project aims to ease the transition between in-school and remote learning and provide students the supports they need to succeed at home.
My hope is to supply students with a combination of digital accessories that will increase their participation in Distance Learning and hands-on materials that will allow students to continue learning in an engaging way.
