My Students
No one would ask a carpenter to work without a hammer or an artist to paint without a brush. How can we ask kids to play outside without a basketball hoop, one of the most essential and basic piece of playground equipment?
My kindergarten students are fun-loving and active.
They play hard and learn quickly. After two hours of class time, most are ready to go outside for physical activities. Some needs more help with hand-eye coordination, which is where the hoop will come in handy.
My Project
For elementary school kids, especially those in kindergarten, playtime is just as important as class time. In the playground, children learn to share, develop hand and feet control, and release energy so they are ready to learn in a classroom setting. Currently, in the playground, there is one play structure, a few tricycles, and a few balls. That is not enough equipments for all the kids.
With a new basketball hoop, children will have an additional activity in the playground.
This not only benefits the 25 children in my class, but it will also be fun for the other 50 kids who share this playground.
