Navigating Learning Through Ipads

Help me give my students ipads, covers and pencils to learn to manipulate an ipad to learn early learning concepts and social skills digitally.

My Students

I am currently a fully self-contained preschool special education teacher in a Title I elementary school in Hawaii. More than half of my students are from low income families. I have preschool students with various disabilities and delays including autism, fine motor, gross motor, speech/communication, behavior management, social emotional needs developmental delays and medically fragile.

My students are full of energy, loving, caring, spirited and eager to learn group.

My Project

My students are young and have special needs. They are not yet at the level that allows for them to understand, manipulate and navigate computers.

iPads in my classroom will allow for my students to explore and learn from electronic devices .

Using an iPad, they will gain knowledge of early learning concepts such as shapes, colors, numbers, alphabet, social skills and higher levels of cognitive thinking.

I have found great success in teaching the children to manipulate and use iPads independently, which is an achievement for them. Teacher Pay Teachers has great digital activities for students to expand their learning.
