This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom family supports and encourages the unique learning styles of all. Our Kindergarten program consists of 84 total students. We have many different learning styles and needs. Our school is an A+ School of Excellence.

My Project

The Osmo Genius and Coding kits will be used to enhance our STEM Learning Centers in the afternoon. During these centers, the students rotate through various stations in groups of 2 or 3, working collaboratively to complete the given task. Peer modeling and cooperation are key components to enhancing their learning needs.

The Osmo coding kits will allow my students to tap into many higher level thinking skills to be successful in an increasingly digital world.

They will learn basic computer programming commands to maneuver the character throughout the different stages of the game. Their visual thinking skills will be challenged through the Tangram program, as they match the puzzle on the screen with their own hands on pieces. The Newton program will promote problem solving capabilities when completing the various physics puzzles. I am excited to see my students grow and expand their knowledge!
