My Project
My students are curious, imaginative, and full of wonder. They light up when learning connects to the world around them, and they thrive when given the chance to explore, ask questions, and observe nature firsthand.
Even with budget cuts limiting off-campus field trips, our school grounds offer incredible opportunities for learning—we have woods, wetlands, and outdoor classrooms right outside our doors.
With mini sketchpads and clipboards, students will be able to record observations, sketch what they see, and reflect on their experiences outdoors. Binoculars will help them spot birds and wildlife, sparking conversations about ecosystems and animal behavior. Thermometers and a weather station will bring science to life as they track changes in temperature, rainfall, and other weather patterns. Every item in this project is designed to empower our teachers to use the outdoors as a vibrant, hands-on classroom and to help our students stay connected to nature, even without a bus ride.
