This art and science lesson will use UV light from the sun to create monochromatic art prints. This breathtaking photographic process will get my students excited about the various ways art can be created. This Cyanotype process allows my students to see the effects of the fabric/paper after being exposed to sunlight for a period of time and help them to understand positive and negative space in art. The acrylic sheet of plexiglass will be placed on top of their objects during the exposure to the sun. The plexiglass will keep items from moving and protect the integrity of their print. This experience will be get them out of the classroom and into the fresh air.
