I am a kindergarten teacher at Walker Gamble Elementary in New Zion, South Carolina. My classroom is a busy place with 23 very active students. Our science center is also a very popular place during center time. We would love to have a Delta Nature Center to make it more interesting.
The Delta Nature Center offers a collection of natural specimens with magnifiers and bug viewers. My students will have a wonderful time examining the pine cones, star fish, shells, rocks, feathers, and other interesting items. I always encourage my students to bring in items to place on our discovery table. The magnifiers and bug viewers will be excellent tools for the students to use in association with the discovery table.
Our science standards require our students to examine the difference between living and nonliving things so the natural specimens will be a great teaching resource.
