My Project

Our school is committed to providing students with a comprehensive and inclusive understanding of American history. To support this goal, we are seeking funding for a classroom set of "An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States: A Graphic Interpretation (ReVisioning History)" by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz.

This groundbreaking book offers a crucial perspective often overlooked in traditional history curricula.

By incorporating this resource into our school-wide program, we aim to:

Broaden our students' understanding of American history by including Indigenous voices and experiences.

Encourage critical thinking about historical narratives and their impacts on present-day society.

Promote empathy, cultural awareness, and a more nuanced view of our nation's past.

Utilize the graphic novel format to engage visual learners and make complex historical concepts more accessible.

Foster important discussions about diversity, equity, and inclusion across all grade levels.

The classroom set will be shared throughout the entire building, allowing teachers from various subjects to incorporate this valuable resource into their lessons. This approach ensures that all our students, regardless of their grade or course of study, will have the opportunity to engage with this important material.

By supporting this project, you'll be helping us create a more inclusive and comprehensive educational experience for our students. Your contribution will play a vital role in shaping how our students understand American history and their place within it.

Thank you for considering our request and for your commitment to enriching our students' education.
