This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The specific items we are requesting will make a significant difference in our students' learning by enabling them to actively participate in the National History Day competition. Student will use the supplies to build exhibits about a significant event in history. As a Title I school, resources for project-based learning are scarce, and the display boards, markers, glue guns, construction paper and other supplies will level the playing field. They will provide students with the materials they need to construct exhibits that showcase their historical research and creativity. This hands-on approach will help them grasp turning points in history more effectively.

Our primary goal for this project is to ensure that every student, regardless of their financial circumstances, has the opportunity to participate in the National History Day competition with their exhibits.

By eliminating the financial barrier, we want to promote inclusivity and equal access to educational opportunities. Moreover, our goal is to introduce students to a project-based learning experience that nurtures their creativity and critical thinking skills.

What truly sets our students apart is their resilience and compassion. Despite facing numerous challenges, whether due to the COVID-19 pandemic or family struggles, our students have demonstrated remarkable perseverance. They continue to support one another and value education as a means to a brighter future. These qualities make our students special, and we believe that providing them with the necessary supplies for the National History Day competition will empower them to shine even brighter.
