My Students
My students are hard-working, music-loving, collaborative learners who strive every day to do their best work. Our school embraces and celebrates the incredible diversity of our student body, and that diversity is well-represented in the choir program.
I am constantly seeking new tools for my students to use that will push their music-making to the next level.
Despite challenges with transportation, financial constraints, and busy schedules outside of school, my students attend after school rehearsals and performances. They are thoroughly committed to the program and each other.
My Project
My initial National Board certification was a period of incredible growth for me. The process of recording my teaching and then using the guiding questions to reflect on my practices spurred changes in my teaching that are still applicable eight years later.
This year, with our return to full in-person instruction, has required constant reflection, reassessment, and reconfiguration of my instructional practice.
I am grateful for the opportunity to use the National Board framework as a tool to reflect on what is working in this new era of teaching and learning.
