My Project
Developing our written voice is challenging. One of the goals I have for my classes this year is to use young adult literature as a means to explore how authors integrate voice into narrative writing.
For my unit on narratives, I want to use "They Both Die at the End" as a mentor text to help students develop authorial voice in their writing.
The novel is a great example of how an author uses voice to explore identity, place, and purpose in the world. I believe the novel has the power to speak to students who are in the midst of searching for their own authorial voice.
