My Project
Hi! My name is Ms. Alice and I have an energetic bunch of 12 students in my UPK class so far this year and naptime can sometimes be difficult. We are often given flat sheets that don't have the rubber band to keep the sheets in place and the sheets that students use to cover themselves with are the same as the flat sheets, very thin and my classroom can get very cold especially since we are in an old building. Even when the heat is on, sometimes we can barely feel it.
You may think that what you donate is only helping the students in the class, but you are also helping our 70+ year old custodian who keeps the school clean as well as myself.
The sheets you donate to my class will help students have a new clean sheet to sleep on and the blankets will be warm and fuzzy to keep the children warm and it for student who have sensory needs. Mr. E is our custodian and he has been a custodian at the school for many years, we have hand made trolleys of wood planks and wheels are tough to push around. Just imagine a shopping cart with a stuck wheel and having to push or pull that through the supermarket. It can get quite annoying; you either deal with it or you go and get a new one. Mr. E and I have been dragging the cots to and from the classroom and honestly it's not safe. We often have to adjust the cots and to prevent them from falling over, which can be unsafe for everyone.
