My Students
I am blessed to teach second grade at a wonderful Title I school in northeast North Carolina. I am so excited to meet my new group of second grade students this school year. I just know they will be loving, hard-working, easily motivated, and care about each other and their success! I can't wait to get to know each one and engage, motivate and inspire them in the new school year ahead.
Our school glows bright with students that are excited to learn, work hard, and feel valued when they are given options and choices that show their interests matter!
We are a diverse school consisting of students and families from various backgrounds and cultures, as well as Coast Guard families. They are each unique and have a special way of winning our hearts with their kindness and thoughtfulness. The students and staff at our elementary school have truly become a family to one another!
My Project
This will be the second year for our running club! We are in need of the webscorer app to help us easily collect times for our runners during practices and also during our final 5K runs throughout the school year. We will need 2 tents to use during our 5K community events to have one at the start line & one at the finish line. The cooling towels will be used during the hot final few months of the school year to keep our runners cool. The outdoor timer will allow our runners to see their times not only at the finish line but also halfway through the 5K. We want to provide the resources to ensure our students learn how to safely run long distances in the heat this year.
Incorporating a running team at our school has allowed our students to gain team-building skills, confidence, exercise and health benefits.
Co-ed and will run one 5K each semester and a final one at the end of the school year for a total of 3 -5K runs. Parents will be invited to attend the final 5K event which will take place at the end of the school year.
This project will allow students an opportunity to be a part of a team and to learn a safe way to build up their running stamina by using the C25K running app. This project will also increase motivation and confidence for academic success in both males and females as well as exercise, health, and parental involvement. Thanks so much for helping us bring a N25K running team to our school for a 2nd school year.
