The study of myth from a variety of cultures is always a popular subject with our students and one which they gravitate to in the fiction chapter books they choose to read also. They understand that myths are not intended to be literal stories, but rather, explorations of what it means to be human irrespective of what geographical place you originate. These explorations of symbolism help them to explore forms of art, history, and are fantastic lessons in empathy.
Few things will dissuade a child from picking up a book like a dated and worn copy.
Please help me fill our library shelves with beautiful, up-to-date, undamaged books about mythology for our students to read. The only books on myth we currently stock are literally from the last century, and while myth is eternal, printed material is unfortunately not. Help me raise our collection to mythic proportions?
