My Students
Our students are heading into a future that is increasingly globalized and it is essential that they understand global cultures so they can become the global leaders that we need them to be. The mysteries that I want for them to solve will give them this world knowledge that they need.
I teach some of the most driven, courageous and just plain cool kids in the country.
Our KIPPsters go to school 10 hours a day, go to Saturday school twice a month and do two hours of homework a night. They have dedicated themselves to climbing the mountain to college and we, as teachers are very dedicated to helping them get there. It is a formula that is remarkably simple and remarkably successful.
My Project
With a great selection of mysteries about the ancient cultures of Greece, Rome, China and others, I will be able to engage every student in the learning that needs to be done. And an amazing thing happens when you are able to engage all readers on their level: they begin to truly love learning and look forward to the next lesson. Seeing that spark, solving those mysteries, suggesting that next adventure, is why we all get in to teaching. Books like Mysteries in History, Ancient Room and Ancient Science are books that will spark the interest in learning. I look forward to being able to design lessons that will reach all of my students, and help pass on the love of social studies that I bring to class. As our students connect to the world around them, they will be able to see the many ways that their education will be able to help make the world a better, more unified place.
With your generous donation, a school full of hard working students that are not only talking the talk, but walking the walk, will receive the kind of books that set an imagination on fire.
By helping our students grow as readers, you will help ensure that they develop the kind of learning habits that can take any student to college and beyond, no matter where they start out!
