This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in our art projects. They are fearless when it comes to trying new things. Although many students are trying things for the first time in my class, they approach every new project with a positive attitude. For these reasons, I want them to have all the different mediums and materials available to them so they can learn and experience new things. I know the students will appreciate your donations.

My Project

The Mycenaean mask art activity we will attempt with these supplies is known as repoussé. We will make personal plaque, coin, or memorial designs in copper foil using the repoussé technique.

We will create a low relief image in metal (copper foil) using the technique known as repoussé.

Once the sketch has been refined and is the same format as your copper foil, students will understand the technique as one of creating convex and concave forms, decide how best make the transfer from sketch to copper, and explore how to best depict the idea using these materials.
