My Young Writers Deserve To Be Published in Style

My classroom needs a Heavy Duty Bookbinding machine and bookbinding supplies to publish my students writing.

This project is fully funded

I teach in an inner city elementary school located in a hard working, low-income neighborhood. Approximately 97% of students receive free lunch. I teach 20 wonderful first graders who love to write about their lives and experiences. At the end of every month, we celebrate the writing that they have done throughout the month. We have a Publishing Party and the children share their favorite piece of writing from the month. Currently, they "publish" their work by creating a construction paper cover and stapling all of the pages together. I would love for my students to be able to publish their books by binding them using a bookbinding machine. My students work so hard every month to improve their writing and I know that they would be so proud to share a professionally bound book with their classmates and families. For this reason, I am requesting a Bookbinding machine and bookbinding supplies so that my students can be published in style. My students love to write and I encourage them to consider themselves authors. I feel that binding their books will increase their pride and enthusiasm towards their writing and allow them to feel like authors.
