My Students
My class is full of students who are excited to be at school each day to see what we will learn. Our favorite time is pulling out a keyboard and singing songs together that help us to learn our letter sounds, math facts, and about the world around us.
All of the students in our school qualify for free or reduced lunch.
The diversity that exists in our school comes from the reservation which borders our district and the Hispanic population that helps our farming community.
My Project
As a first year teacher, I am learning that the students in my class love their independence and personal space. During learning time, I gather my students around to sing songs, read books, solve mathematic story problems and many other fun and educational activities. It is so hard for students to sit in their desks, but not having a designated space on the floor makes focusing difficult also.
The carpet I have chosen is marked off in squares so each student can have their own space to sit and listen, wiggle and move, and learn and grow.
By creating boundaries, my students will be able to focus more on what is being taught and begin to reach their full potential. Thank you so much in advance for funding my first DonorsChoose project for this colorful carpet to help my students improve their learning abilities.
