My Students
Do you remember the days when experiments, questioning, and exploring were important? Well, our kids don't! Because of standardized testing the "important" subjects (ELA & Math) overshadow the importance of Science. We have got to fix this problem!!!
I teach 25 wonderful, driven, hard working students who need to experience science HANDS ON!!
These students come from a high poverty background, so some of them have never experienced much of what we discuss in school. They need manipulative's to assist them in understanding outrworld.
My Project
I am requesting the entire 5th grade Lakeshore Science Experiments kit for my students to use in the classroom in addition to the resources provided by the school, and the textbook. My students will gain a level of understanding that will not only assist them on standardized testing, but in the real world as well.
This project is essential to my students because they need to be able to question, explore, and experiment with the REAL world.
