My students with Autism really need 19 challenging learning materials, including Literature-Based Learning Centers, Bingo Games Learning Library, a digital timer, a Teaching Time Pocket Chart and a First 100 Words Puzzle Library.
Hi, I teach 3rd grade students with Autism in a low income district in New York. Our school funding has been suspended and we need learning supplies and teaching materials to continue our education.
Our school budget has taken a big hit! Our class is in need of basic supplies for our students in need. We would love to new materials to learn with and it would be a great help to have new supplies to help teach them.
My students are really excited about learning. They learn in so many different ways. Some of my students have to hear and see things to understand a lesson. Some have to feel or make projects to full comprehend an idea and others require movement while learning. It’s an interesting mix! Because of these different learning styles and our need for new clean supplies I am requesting ink pads, creative arts and crafts materials to build on their cognitive and comprehension skills.
I have requested bingo games to help my students learn and have fun in group play activities. Kids with autism tend to isolate and these games will help motivate them to join in group play activities which will help with their social skills.
Most of my students are pre-readers and are having a very difficult time learning to read and to write. I have requested various reading materials to address their different learning styles and also to help them enjoy their reading and writing time. These materials’ and bright and colorful and will catch their attention. They include a literature based learning center, first 100 words puzzle library, and a journal called “my picture-word journal”.
These terrific kids already face an uphill battle dealing with their autism. Please help them enjoy their time in school by providing clean new supplies that will add fun to their learning and smiles to their faces.
