Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have come into high school behind grade level. But these students are not quitters. We have a strong culture of achievement,and encourage all students to prepare for and apply to college.
Were you to walk down the halls of my school, you might think you are in the United Nations.
We have students from five continents (and more than that number of islands) representing a diverse array of languages and cultures. My students are a mix of new immigrants and native born Americans. All of them want to succeed.
My Project
My students need some basic consumables and supplies. Specifically, we need toner for our printer, and card stock paper to print on. In my math class, we depend to a large extent on manipulatives and constructions that we create ourselves. These supplies will ensure we can continue doing so, and will help my class run smoothly.
I try to make sure a lack of supplies won't hold my students back, and as much as possible, I try to introduce technology and real-world situations to their studies.
By funding this project, providing paper and other supplies, you will help my students get ready for the world.
