My Project
As the school counselor of The Baer School, a key aspect of my role involves utilizing play to assist our younger students in developing essential socializations skills. By using play-based methods, I will create a supportive and non- threatening environment, in my school counselor's office as well as the classrooms, where our students can work on building connections, improving communication, and fostering positive interactions with others.
The use of the items of which I am asking assistance will be utilized during the different types of play sessions I will be utilizing such as:
Activities Sensory Play - Using textured objects, water play or sand to encourage interaction.
Dramatic Play - Role-playing with puppets or dolls to simulate social scenarios.
Interactive Games - Simple cooperative games like rolling a ball to one another.
Art and Music Play - Collaborative art projects or group drumming.
Our amazing students and their parents are resilient and strong, and we who are blessed to be a part of their school journey want to ensure that our students are provided with the optimum academic experience and that our parents have our unwavering support.
