Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I want my students to have a portfolio of beautifully published work that they will be proud of, and want to save forever. I have many great ideas on how to publish the work of my English Language Learners, but I need a wireless color printer with a scanner to accomplish this!
My students are English Language Learners from all over the world.
We are a true multicultural classroom representing countries such as, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Dominican Republic, Yemen, Haiti, Pakistan, Ghana, Albania and Senegal. Our school is in a high poverty area. Most of my students have been in the United States for less than three years. They are still in the process of learning English. They live in poverty and they miss the families they left behind.
My Project
A wireless printer will be a great tool. Students will be able to print their work in color. We will also be able to scan work and change the size so that it can be included in our newsletters and other individual student published pages. Instead of publishing on loose leaf paper, students will be able to create advanced and colorful published pieces that they'll be proud to share with others!
My students need to feel pride in their work.
I want them to learn how technology can help them create beautifully published pieces of writing. I am hoping that they will cherish their portfolios of work created for a very long time.
