This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. When I prompt them with "We are the..." they will reply with "Best!" I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.
Our classroom is in a Title I school in Houston, Texas.
I strive for our classroom to be a home away from home and reiterate to my students that we are a classroom family.
My Project
I am a second grade bilingual teacher at a title I public school in Houston, TX.
Due to changes in budget, my students will have limited access to a movable easel.
In the past, we were able to order all sorts of teaching tools for our classroom, but that will no longer be the norm. I am asking for your help in securing this necessary teaching tool for my students' educational development.
In order to be an effective teacher, I need a new easel that will meet my class' needs. I currently do not have a movable easel, on the classroom white board and it is too small. Although it serves its purpose as a writing tool, it does not serve the purposes that I need. The easel that I am requesting has two dry erase boards, is magnetic, has tubs for storage, and holds big books. Having a two sided easel with magnetic dry erase boards will be an amazing teaching tool for my English Language Learners. I can prepare multiple activities and provide students with the opportunity to work on various tasks throughout the day.
Students learn best when they are able to move to different places in the classroom and this can be done with a movable easel.
