Help me give my students the write & wipe table and the floor seats to help them feel accommodated and comfortable while they continue to learn different styles in expressing their feelings/emotions.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I admire that my students are so resilient and have such willingness to succeed in all they do. Regardless of the challenges they are faced with, they strive to find the strength to tackle their worries. The resources will be utilized to motivate the students to work more collaboratively with other students as well as learning the different strategies to manage their emotions. The Write & Wipe Table together with the soft floor seats will help the students feel more comfortable and less restricted while also talking about their most inner emotions. The multi color dry markers will be utilized to help students identify their emotions and match it to the color of their choice.
The Write & Wipe table is part of the new strategy, which I plan to implement in the social emotional curriculum.
This table will allow the students to work together in a more comfortable setting and develop their own strategies to help manage their mental distress whether it’s anxiety, depression, nervousness, or hyperactivity. Students that are nonverbal or less talkative will also benefit from the Write & Wipe table since it will provide them with an alternative to write or draw to explain their feelings.
The goal for this project is to assist my students in developing the strategies needed to combat their emotions in a positive, subtle, and more productive way. The goal also includes providing students with a relaxed and secure environment where they can freely talk and express their emotions without feeling judged during a vulnerable time.
