This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a third grade bilingual teacher in a Title 1 school. I am the teacher of 68 amazing students that have a passion to learn. What makes my students special is that they are all English Language Learners and are willing to go above and beyond every single day when it comes to learning English as a Second Language.
It is my responsibility to provide my students with the best education possible.
I know my students will become even better students in my classroom if I give them developmentally appropriate resources that they need to succeed.
My Project
My students will not only expand their knowledge with comprehension, making inferences, making connections, drawing conclusions with adding books into our reading library, but I think the most important take away that my students will get from adding books into our classroom library is that they will read for enjoyment.
Currently, we do not have a carpet in the classroom.
When I invite my students to our gathering place, they are uncomfortable, therefore, a carpet will make our gathering place a much happier place in our classroom.
The headphones are a great way for my English Language Learners to practice listening and speaking in their second language with the use of technology.
The literacy activities are another way for my English Language Learners to expand their vocabulary in their second language.
