My students come to school eager to learn and most come from families that have limited resources for school supplies. They amaze me with their talent and creativity. They are excited to enter the art room and see the possibilities and opportunities that await them.
My students love to learn about new artists and experiment with new materials.
Art materials can be costly and used up quickly. I am hoping to raise funds to purchase some extra special supplies that students can use and call their own.
My Project
This school year is going to be very different and requires a new approach to how we will work on projects in the art room. We are hoping to return to school in September but know that we may end up working remotely at some point.
Artists use sketchbooks to record thoughts and ideas.
I want my students to be able to make their own personal sketchbook, and use it as a tool to help them investigate and consider their own thoughts and ideas. They will use their sketchbooks to solve problems and record their observations throughout the year, at home or at school.
The completed sketchbook will illustrate the story of their year; it is my hope that they will look through it and remember all the hard work that went into it throughout the course of the year!
