My Sixth Graders Love to Read!

Help me give my students access to books they actually want to read! In addition to adding new titles, I need to replace some well-loved books in my library, as well as some books that were never returned.

My Project

It's true - my sixth graders love to read! These books will continue to enhance the literature-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy, and I need a little help making it grow. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. My readers have a goal of reading 20 books this school year, and they will be able to choose books that they want to read to achieve this reading goal.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading.

Some of the titles will help support book club units this year - including Social Topics book clubs, and Narrative Nonfiction book club. Some of the books will replace much-loved books that need to be replaced because they are falling apart. Some books were so well-loved that they were never replaced by a former borrower. All of the books will be available immediately for my readers, and I can't wait to show them their new books!
